Trafford Hall in Chester has got this exciting training course coming up which has still got some space available.
This is for groups of 4/5 young people aged 14-18 who must accompanied by a responsible adult. On the course you will learn how to source unwanted bikes and how to get them back in to a condition where they can be re-sold or hired out. You will learn about other projects and action plan a project for your own community. As this course is OCN accredited you will have the opportunity to gain level 1 in Bike Mechanics.
This course will cover:
- How to source bikes and equipment for little or no cost
- How to repair donated bikes to a re-usable standard
- How to use social media to help your project
- How to work effectively as part of a team
- The economic and environmental benefits of Cycle recycling
- Involving the community in your project
- Developing your own action plan and budget
- How to access funding
Thanks
to generous funding from the Tudor Trust we can offer these courses for
only £50 for each adult worker and £10 for each young person attending
the course. This price not only includes the training but also all meals
and refreshments during your stay and one night's accommodation in one
of our en-suite bedrooms at Trafford Hall.
There
is a small grant fund attached to this programme so after completing
the course you will have the opportunity of applying for a grant of up
to £500 to help your community project
